Private means specific, not vague.

TillShot does not claim the internet never exists. Network access can happen for user-started recognition package downloads, Apple StoreKit purchase flows, links you open, and support email you choose to send.

The line that matters most is receipt content: TillShot does not operate an app backend for receipt images, OCR text, reviewed fields, notes, folders, exports, or backups.

What stays local.

  • Receipt images and thumbnails.
  • Merchant, date, total, currency, tax, payment method, category, folder, and note fields.
  • OCR text, evidence rows, and review status.
  • Local CSV/PDF/package exports until you choose where to share them.
  • Local receipt backups, including optional password-protected backup files.

Recognition is optional and explicit.

On-device recognition requires a user-initiated download of about 363 MB. TillShot verifies the files before using them, and you can remove the recognition package without deleting receipts.
